The older I get, the faster it goes. I blinked, and my 4 lb babies that used to do nothing but eat, sleep and poop and now climbing, jumping, running, escaping, screaming, singing, painting, and generally wreaking havoc on the universe on a daily basis. It's amazing.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">The day of the birthday was a lot of fun, as we took them to the "Touch a Truck" event in downtown Orlando.. we were lucky to have the kids cousins and aunt K with us so we had plenty of helping hands. The boys were in their glory, loving sitting behind the wheels of garbage trucks, SWAT vehicles, ambulances and fire engines. Lily was a little less impressed, but still enjoyed herself. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP3sZpNMGVfmDIDn_TBJRRnPJkx92o4OJp2E3RPcFM6ut9ADV9DyGBn6YJdWZAvyshjZ-YmfJQoYiOPUw3K3_bZhSVPim46QnpZwyWtlmUzp_6lB36ajnkXVef5kMIcUE4rQODNRKn-FFn/s1600/touchatruck6.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539990649986459522" style="WIDTH: 267px; I am still recovering:) I did a pretty good job of leaving everything for the last possible minute, so it was a very hectic day. I got up early and started running around town picking things up, and pretty much rushed around all day until the guests started arriving! It was a Sesame Street/Halloween theme party, and the special surprise guest was "Spooky Elmo".. I'd say he was a hit! It was so cute to see all the kids giving Elmo hugs. We had three sets of twins, two sets of triplets, and 2 singletons at the party.. it was definitely a full house:)</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtXj4ruDKXIoc6mPnL1jm4LtQjeb04Ne4ScWGhaLgX1nzYJvXYyP7FpeXNNSVQn5VfH1qLasQ7lcI41KUH7rDV8Zo33gJH2qF85YjpS_m50-9OWk_GagSq-Kv2HWiwhDt7NH6aUvPOvOUj/s1600/elmoparty3.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5535795956668829522" style="WIDTH: 266px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtXj4ruDKXIoc6mPnL1jm4LtQjeb04Ne4ScWGhaLgX1nzYJvXYyP7FpeXNNSVQn5VfH1qLasQ7lcI41KUH7rDV8Zo33gJH2qF85YjpS_m50-9OWk_GagSq-Kv2HWiwhDt7NH6aUvPOvOUj/s400/elmoparty3.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">Princess Lily was a bit of a hippy, refusing to wear shoes or her princess crown. I am creatively spent at the moment, so I can't even come up with a witty post title. The past few weeks have been extremely busy with work, the kids have been seriously keeping me on my toes, and I have had lots of fun little things going to in between all of that as well. This weekend I hosted a baby shower for one of my best friends in the world, and it came together really nicely, despite my major last-minute accomplishments:) The theme was "storybooks", so all the food coordinated with some kind of childrens' book, and all the guests were asked to bring their favorite kids' book, and sign the inside cover instead of bringing a card. I loved that idea! She got so many great books!<br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFkoPwG63PEO5eNsnM-EwAEBFjlGfu9JdafC6oWmLu6n9h1HOa4jy5xN7vmcFPybRio7eIlL4XLxvVx2GpeI_xMh85L5dxRTI_nvRVwk7bdTiLi6dzUNV-L942AZbwHgdtLhD8AHrWCtQ7/s1600/showerdecor.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529966271703897938" style="WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFkoPwG63PEO5eNsnM-EwAEBFjlGfu9JdafC6oWmLu6n9h1HOa4jy5xN7vmcFPybRio7eIlL4XLxvVx2GpeI_xMh85L5dxRTI_nvRVwk7bdTiLi6dzUNV-L942AZbwHgdtLhD8AHrWCtQ7/s400/showerdecor.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><br />In leiu of cheesy shower games, we did a diaper raffle (each guest that brought a package of diapers was entered into a drawing for a prize- I got a starbucks card, and an itunes giftcard to give out), and we did the "timer" game: as she opened her gifts, I set a kitchen timer for a random number of minutes, and whoever gave the gift that she was opening when it went off got a prize.<br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaN9797ldisvhNE0tt1V8nLSd-hYm9gx8N5vKLR-s-3vN1ZVHXhkNAeSH7ifQuCsr3plRwdpPJHxYETXNTjtV4B7rWG_Y527QSXAhfqm34uTkxoGpOFo_O3DHx181xpD24dilt7cKyJoxu/s1600/buffet.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529966256995785986" style="WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaN9797ldisvhNE0tt1V8nLSd-hYm9gx8N5vKLR-s-3vN1ZVHXhkNAeSH7ifQuCsr3plRwdpPJHxYETXNTjtV4B7rWG_Y527QSXAhfqm34uTkxoGpOFo_O3DHx181xpD24dilt7cKyJoxu/s400/buffet.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">How beautiful are these cakes?<br /><br /></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg3SK1fZV2CfkUZWQka0TaEZJJkgCAqnMChIeMai3BJAT-W8lzR9lDZd3ZDCLeAnTpEWpGTONY06U7B3_OkKGToy8Lo3CzpPG1hJBYh2bcjYET9U265T_G9lm49Zs2orkdyLcI67oUZsB8/s1600/christiscakes.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529966252339511074" style="WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg3SK1fZV2CfkUZWQka0TaEZJJkgCAqnMChIeMai3BJAT-W8lzR9lDZd3ZDCLeAnTpEWpGTONY06U7B3_OkKGToy8Lo3CzpPG1hJBYh2bcjYET9U265T_G9lm49Zs2orkdyLcI67oUZsB8/s400/christiscakes.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />The food: I can take almost no credit here, I delegated this task to C's other friends who were awesome enough to help out. Just as we were finishing up, Ben decided to leave his meal at the restaurant after all. He really wasn't sick, but seems to just have a sensitive gag reflex if he coughs/chokes on something. Just picture sitting in a booth with diners all around you, while your child spews all over you, the table and the floor. Yeah, it was pretty sweet. I'll spare you further details.<br /></div><div align="center">We got everyone cleaned up (or so we thought), and since Ben seemed fine, we figured we would give the playground a go. This is a place we go regularly, although I hadn't been to the playground in a while. I was excited to see a state of the art, brand new playground had been built since the last time we had been by- and it was completely fenced in and closed off to anyone who wasn't a resident of the community. This is just wrong because it's right in the middle of a town that invites tourists in to shop, dine and spend their the money- why close off your playground? Grr. Instead of playing on the pristine playground in the crisp fall air, we rode home in our vomit-scented minivan, in a half-dejected silence. </div><div align="center">*sigh* </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">At least we got some pumpkins:)</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="http://lyonstriplets.blogspot.com/2008/10/pumpkin-patch-pictures.html">Click this link to check out the pictures from our first ever visit to the pumpkin patch!</a></div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><br /><br /> </div><div align="center"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img height="125" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" width="125" border="0" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-61427617744054388362010-10-06T08:57:00.005-04:002010-10-06T09:26:26.669-04:00It's the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year<div align="center">Have I ever mentioned that Halloween is my favorite holiday? It is, by far. I love pumpkins, dressing up my kids, trick or treating, fall festivals, watching scary movies.. all of it. I am planning the kids birthday party a couple weeks earlier than the actual date so it can be a Halloween party, and I can't wait to see all the little kiddos dressed up!<br /><br /><br />Are you wondering what the kids will be this year? I had lots of possible ideas: a rock band, Mario, Luigi, and Peach, a witch, Frankenstein, and a mummy-all of which would have been adorable but with my kids, you never know what they will actually wear when the time comes. They are VERY particular about what they will put on. While I really wanted to have them all wear coordinating costumes, I just wanted them to be happy with their costumes, so we sat in fromt of the laptop and I showed them all different costumes until they pointed out some things they said they liked.<br /><br /><br />It shouldn't be hard to guess what Lily chose- a princess. It's a white sparkly gown and I just need to get her some shoes and a little tiara and she'll be all set. I do not have to worry about whether she'll wear this when the day comes. In fact I am sure she'll be wearing it for a long time to come. For the boys- it's Lightning Mc Queen's pit crew. The outfit has Lightning McQueen on the front and I think that's enough. I can't wait to see them all dressed up:)<br /><br />Things have been very busy around here-work is picking up a lot. I got to go to my favorite Halloween activity ever this week: <a href="http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/">Halloween Horror Nights</a> at Universal Studios. They transform the park into haunted houses, and have "scare zones" where all these crazy people jump out at you... I've done it a million times yet it still scares the hell out of me. SO much fun.<br /><br />The kids are doing great.. They just got over being sick, though. Ben actually threw up the other day, out of the blue while sitting on my lap. He got over it pretty quickly though.. saying "Mommy, I threw 'back'.. I ok now". I don't know where "threw back" came from but it's funny!<br /><br />They are all talking up a storm, and cracking us up every day. They are way too observant for my liking though. Benjamin is like the clean-police; if there is a spot or a stain anywhere on your clothing, he will come up and point it out and ask you to go change. Lily is a little diva, and asks for her Cinderella dress every day.. sometimes throwing a fit if she doesn;t get to wear it. That's fun to deal with first thing in the morning. And Cameron is still my little mama's boy.. he's a loving, sweet little cuddle-bug when he isn't whining, of course. He's the only one who doesn't give me a hard time about what clothes I pick for him.<br /><br />We are all off today and I am trying to find something fun for us to do- we may go to the zoo, or the farm, but I'll post pictures later tonight!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img height="125" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" width="125" border="0" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-66645326920009295452010-09-26T23:22:00.002-04:002010-09-26T23:52:02.619-04:00A Day In the Park<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We spent the afternoon at Downey Park, for an <a href="http://www.aupaircare.com/">Au Pair Care</a> picnic today. Unfortunately, we were one of only a few families that made it, but the kids definitely had a good time regardless of that. The park was nice and clean and had a great play area for kids. My friend Jo volunteered to help chase toddlers and came along with Ploy and I. Lily is almost 100% potty trained, and is almost always dry when she wakes up from naps and in the morning, but the boys still have wet diapers when they wake up. Very few accidents, just one here and there.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">In sad news, the kids seem to have their first colds of the year. Since it's almost October, I'd say that is pretty good. They have had a few brief fevers over the past year, but this is the first real cold. It made me realize how lucky we are- we haven't had to go to the doctor for a sickness in almost 18 months. I'm sure I totally just jinxed it too.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">My computer is still being very weird. My files are still gone, I have yet to call the geek squad, and the setting are all wacky. I'm not happy about it, I really don't have time for this! For example, right now as I am typing, the text is giant-size (think Jitterbug cell phone numbers) because the touchpad has some weird setting on it that makes me shrink and expand the screen size by do <i>something</i>, but I don't know what, and I don't know how to fix it. I have tried adjusting my touchpad settings but nothing I do fixes it. Sometimes after I close the window and reopen it, it will go back to normal. Sometimes not. Oh, and did I mention that all my files form the last year and a half are missing? Yeah. Still mostly blocking that out.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">That's it for now. Hope you had a great weekend:)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; font-size: 15.9722px; "></span></a><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><br /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><br /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; font-size: 15.9722px; "></span></a><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img border="0" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" width="125" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" height="125" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-63434964273565234002010-09-23T22:24:00.005-04:002010-09-23T22:56:18.292-04:00A Day of Multiples, and a Slap in the Face<div style="text-align: center;">Today was "Multiples Day" at <a href="http://www.amayapapaya.com/">Amaya Papaya,</a> a childrens' play place north of Orlando, so we made the trip to see what this place was all about. "Multiples Day" meant that twin, triplets, and more got in all for the price of one (normally 10+ per kid).. it was pretty cool!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">There were a gazillion germs, I mean, kids there. This will be the true test of my kids immune systems because I don't think they have ever been around that many other kids at the same time. Nevertheless, they had a great time. It was kind of like a big nursery school:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGYggduk6ruhhgf2bgeyBnb0MlJLXQMs5xMH_vJYYl36YRnr9q8UyksS72vNOP4DuQxSxdmp5-Wf1RvVLQ8BEDHEf1lZ1Ylyb4MIT2QOn-JU_URXxbQGmmiYjA_DstgofGO0lXbVBsY2px/s400/aproom.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Lily immediately ran to the dress-up area, a threw on a pink princess dress. Along with the dress came some serious diva attitude. What is with the hand on the hip? A minute later I saw her pointing her little finger, and telling that boy to turn around and go down the slide. Heads turned as she twisted and flailed, shrieking that deep-down-from-the-gut-cry that is reserved for only the most serious of offenses. It was perhaps the most epic of tantrums I have seen any of my kids throw as of yet. I had pulled the van up to the entrance of the place so we could get them in quicker, and the scene continued out front as she kicked and slapped at me while I tried to get her in her carseat. Let me tell you, you haven't lived until you've been slapped in the face by a toddler in front of a room full of women, all watching to see how you react. I'm not one to smack back (what lesson does that teach?) so I gritted my teeth, wiped my brow, buckled her in and then continued to listen to her scream for a good 20 minutes afterwards. She was screaming at me to turn around and go back for the dress, which made me laugh and snapped me out of my seething bad mood. I turned on my Glee CD loud enough to drown her out until she realized the screaming wasn't getting her anywhere. By the time we got home she was back to being sweet as pie. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I'm wondering, how do other moms see fit to handling those situations?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img border="0" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" width="125" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" height="125" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-76729370565129240382010-09-22T00:35:00.005-04:002010-09-22T23:26:40.885-04:00My Beautiful Kids<div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Now, without further ado... my beautiful kids! Reviews- I raised about 650 dollars, so I am happy, yet still have a way to go. But I can start to concentrate on other things now- like baby shower planning (for my friend) and birthday party planning! I have so many ideas running through my head right now! On top of these things, I suddenly have the urge to redecorate our house too. Nothing crazy, just change up the colors and put some simple things back on the wall. Although, I wouldn't mind a new <a href="http://bedroomfurniture.com/">bedroom furniture set</a>s, and dining room table. I have a plan to sell our set that we have now on craigslist, then buy a new table that seats 8. That plan is on the back burner right now though...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I also did my first preschool visit today. I can't believe it's that time already. I only know of one in our area so I dropped in on my way home from work.. I have to admit that I have no idea what I am looking for. Yes, it looked clean, and there were a lot of toys and a nice playground. The teacher to child ratio is no more than 1:11... which seems insane to me because I think 3 is kind of hard, but I guess that's typical. The plus side is that it is really close to home, in a safe area. The negative side, is that it's almost 200 a week (for all three kids) for just two days a week of school. Yah. I'm going to look around some more!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank">H</a>ave you voted for me lately?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img border="0" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" width="125" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" height="125" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-20933314650445840632010-09-18T15:08:00.003-04:002010-09-18T15:27:18.726-04:00What's going on in my neck of the woods<div style="text-align: center;">Hm, let's see. First of all, I am doing this<a href="http://whoknewreviews.blogspot.com/"> blog fundraiser</a>.. I have been glued to the computer for a couple weeks and it's starting to get on my nerves. But it's for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, so it's worth it. Giveaways are still open until Monday night, 5 pm!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">What else? In the middle of all this, I opened my laptop one day to find all of my files gone. Everything I have downloaded or uploaded or written or created in the last 1.5 years is gone. Tried a system restore, didn't work. Yes I'm signing in under my normal profile. Guess it's a good think I have the blog, at least those pictures are saved.. I'm trying to keep calm about it, but I guess my next step is to call the Geek Squad.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The kids are driving me CAH=RAZY. I'm either yelling, or I am mute because clearly they don't listen to a word I say. Let's see, this morning alone they:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 15.552px; ">Dumped out a full box of macaroni in the back room, and shoved pieces of macaroni in between the siding on the walls and the tile. Hope the next owner of this house like macaroni because it's going to stay there.</span></li></ul></div><div style="text-align: center;"><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 15.552px; ">Figured out how to take off the doorknob holders and got into the office, dumped out paint on the computer desk. (not the one where the laptop is kept)</span></li></ul></div><div style="text-align: center;"><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 15.552px; ">Dumped a potty full of pee on the carpet. Why bother potty training if you are just going to dump the pee on the rug anyway?</span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 15.552px; ">Opened 10 different cans of Play-Doh and squished them all together so they are no longer are separate colors but one giant gray brown blob.</span></li></ul></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We went out to dinner the other night at Rainforest Cafe.. here's a picture of the 9 second time period where they actually sat in their seats:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN9om4-4BJkbQkrW8ugLtZYex70SOLRSLTRB4XeSJ1FtBgNenmEx5rDEgf5adz2aMgZ8e-faK112lgpsfUJX7NlOgO6UanaE9kTAJDrFitDYdxdIXczjNagbOvFIMBpud2BthmpR39cv2F/s400/rainforest1.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Afterwards we took a boat ride down to the Port Orleans Resort and let the kids play on the playground there:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEZjyAC1wFC7ZZcVHqRwJ7tYeagirQwm9sS9qqCBjHpjFEDogV252V7oPsa79yxnG-NkbZ9HWb8dh8t6S8EuR0c4crXPlOPGkrBPiiH3jhJklNo-fN6iR9mGhyp29F54p9l-7Kk5lBN08a/s400/lilysliden.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Oh, and here's a gem from the other day: Lily decided to empty out the drawer from under her crib and spread the contents all over the floor, while Cameron and Ben removed all the books from their bookshelf and threw them in his crib. Awesome.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-kPaKNdMYbH0_lFjpsNNNFs-5F_23C-0RCLVApjYA8wsb4dAPl5oc-wxcBZigIRY6f6cTE8xQz4rXCzYtQLfI6-6t0Pq8MLCqUuOXglovHxgo_klTIggu834EoKdQqkU1GfTWS-fGHI1k/s400/mess.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">And, now work is getting busy again so I am working more again, which is good financially but bad because now I am stretched to the limit again. I am planning a baby shower, the kids birthday party, raising money for LLS, training (poorly right now) for the Disney half marathon, writing for the Multiples and More blog, dealing with my hellions, and working. I am really good at biting off more than I can chew, aren't I? I wouldn't have it any other way though:)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 15.552px; "><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img border="0" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" width="125" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" height="125" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-37934978952104483772010-09-13T13:08:00.003-04:002010-09-13T13:38:18.564-04:00I need your support!<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiotH3n524WyBQGg3ep8QlWbQXVoNJJ6LbNP0_KPj9vEjlVZbz5FneoE53y-MQOix1R28cfdcV4wFlBd7McMlFS0Aqof3iS663GDmANKwM1_rN-YRBHTO9f0KdbV5MWuwrSgReuhcjGsW2a/s1600/Blog+for+a+cure+button.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiotH3n524WyBQGg3ep8QlWbQXVoNJJ6LbNP0_KPj9vEjlVZbz5FneoE53y-MQOix1R28cfdcV4wFlBd7McMlFS0Aqof3iS663GDmANKwM1_rN-YRBHTO9f0KdbV5MWuwrSgReuhcjGsW2a/s400/Blog+for+a+cure+button.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516446593212638930" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Today I am shamelessly plugging my Blog For A Cure Blog Party! I'll skip to the end and tell you that we did get some really great pictures- and it's a good thing we did because if I had nothing to show for this nightmare-of-a-morning, it might have gotten ugly. Todd and I got up with them kids around 8, got them dressed in their super cute, coordinating outfits, and gave them a light breakfast. All was going smoothly until Benjamin caught sight of the other shirt I was bringing for him to change into: his favorite new orange shirt (the child is addicted to all things orange). He immediately demanded the orange shirt, and when I did not comply he proceeded to throw a 20 minute meltdown, which is always convenient when you are trying to get out the door.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I didn't want to give in. I didn't want to let him think that throwing a tantrum is the way to get what you want. But I was starting to fear that he was crying so hard he would throw up, and I didn't want that. I let him change his shirt, thinking I could try to get him to switch back once we got there. We go out into the garage to get the kids in their seats- and lo and behold, there is a seat missing that Todd took out a few days ago when he was planning on picking up some mulch with the van, but forgot to put back. At this point, we are running <i>just on time.</i> I didn't plan for this type of mishap- the kids are in their carseats (except Ben, who was exploring the garage), and the potty-clock is ticking. They are newly potty trained so we need to get them on a potty every hour or so, and it takes 30 minutes to get to the mall.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Of course, the carseat doesn't want to go in correctly. It was way too loose, and we were having a heck of a time getting it tight. We took turns trying to get it clicked in correctly, both sweating profusely while the kids are getting antsy, they are more than ready to go "bye-bye". Finally, about 20 minutes later, we finally got it in and hit the road. I call the portrait place and say we are running late. They say no problem. Phew.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We arrive at the mall, and as we are pulling into the parking lot, Lily starts throwing up. At first just a little... then, her entire breakfast. (*gag*) It came out of nowhere- she was fine all morning, no temperature, so I am thinking she was just carsick. We quickly pull into a spot, get her out and strip her down. She was a little trooper and barely cried, she just wanted us to clean her off! We got her cleaned up, did our best to forget about the fact that her pukey carseat was going to fester in the heat of the van for an hour or two, and headed inside. My fantasy of coordinating outfits is a thing of the past.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We get inside, and luckily the photographers are very understanding. There's a mom of newborn twins in the waiting area, taking in the scene as my crazy toddlers explored their new surroundings. We were taken back to a shooting area, which was luckily right next to the bathroom, so we were able to take all three kids the potty- no accidents. Twin mom is situated next to us. They are doing all those cute little newborn poses, all swaddled up in crocheted blankets. Next door, my kids are chasing each other around the back of the white screen and refusing to stand still for more than .6 seconds. Todd and I were doing our best to make them stop and smile, but it really wasn't working. Thankfully, our photographer was amazingly patient, and kept shooting even when I was more than ready to throw in the towel. We couldn't get all three kids to sit down next to each other at all, much less smile. I thought we got a few cute individual shots, but I was too busy trying to keep my kids from running away to really know how it was going. They just love to run off.. it's really quite frustrating. Twin mom and dad are now laughing at us in the booth next to us. I am "that mom" and say to them... <i>just you wait, </i>with a grin.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Ben provided us a little comic relief, albeit at the expense of our extremely patient photographer when he ran up behind her while she was bending over to take a photo, and stuck his finger down her butt crack. Awesome. All I could do was laugh and apologize. The kids is a fan of any type of cleavage. By the time we were done, the adults were all sweating, the kids were tired and hungry, and I had no idea if we even had any good shots. We decided to go get lunch in the food court while the pictures were processed.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We went to Johnny Rockets, and wolfed down some sandwiches while trying to keep the kids from rolling around on the floor. I have figured out that sitting in a booth is the best way to do it they can't escape as easily. Back to the portrait place, and the pictures are *almost* ready. But the kiddos are getting antsy.. we wait just long enough to see them, but realize we can't possibly make a decision as to which ones we want while the kids are with us. We have an appointment at 2, so we have to get going and decide to come back later after our appointment.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Get home, drop off the kids with Ploy.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Go to appointment. Grab dinner while we have a little free time.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pick up photos. We only got one decent shot of them together, but got some great individuals.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Home for bath and bedtime.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Exhausted!!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Family, I have some great photos of the kids coming your way soon. I would love to have posted them here but I didn't get digital images, and my scanner isn't working. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">So there you have it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Please vote for my blog on TopBaby Blogs! Green Meadows is a place where the kids can actually touch and hold all the animals, and they even have pony rides, hayrides and a train ride! I think I love that place more than the kids do, actually. But they really had fun too, despite the fact that it was extremely hot (of course, I live in Florida, so when am I going to get used to that? Oh, that's right, never.) and despite the fact that we spent a good chunk of our time there in the restroom. Which was surprisingly clean for a farm.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">They actually allow the kids to hold a baby chick, and a baby duck! Lily wanted to hold them so bad but she was a little rough.. She did give her duck a kiss though. It was so cute that I didn't even worry about the duck germs. So if you want to kidnap my daughter, just bring a pony..otherwise you are screwed.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I was a little nervous that Cameron was going to be nervous- but nope, he loved it too!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgw1IF2bH-fcZjYoEFu3uSW-Jyc6I8UGh-gmbLd0r8p_AGBNzxlJzD2bACBQEqXrfrgx3Dua87ReqK1BWqQ51qHs9taq6R4YI3FlIVU9MRqqn6RSLaurrZP08vzjoyC7769Ng267f5zrGwm/s1600/gmf5.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgw1IF2bH-fcZjYoEFu3uSW-Jyc6I8UGh-gmbLd0r8p_AGBNzxlJzD2bACBQEqXrfrgx3Dua87ReqK1BWqQ51qHs9taq6R4YI3FlIVU9MRqqn6RSLaurrZP08vzjoyC7769Ng267f5zrGwm/s400/gmf5.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511442515516542738" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">They got to chase some goats and ducks around in the pen...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIxVoRRWmduYJMqxfpm8RYxmlcjFXrdPnl5SNi_1khEJ3JCViYgij0NQ2oY25UBPiB6rrNB8fXKY0qd3w9l0ZNYwMNGQT8P3etGUOlJ_OMOsNHkhSMyy3OaNuOJ5vlznPkxbaJcICKak8h/s1600/gmf4.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIxVoRRWmduYJMqxfpm8RYxmlcjFXrdPnl5SNi_1khEJ3JCViYgij0NQ2oY25UBPiB6rrNB8fXKY0qd3w9l0ZNYwMNGQT8P3etGUOlJ_OMOsNHkhSMyy3OaNuOJ5vlznPkxbaJcICKak8h/s400/gmf4.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511442512282223922" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1kICT5xjd39kS4lxPvQn1Yt3_MI1fJQtFbXArp_xzOveAZX4q-KoIacwP49NeoG2g0UcBI6tnKA_z4vBLe7oTh4Wlqi7ScyFFefg-1NZ3BP9Ab_Jo2Ho7UooegeBm9AiRSSskBZzdMHRu/s1600/gmf3_picnik.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1kICT5xjd39kS4lxPvQn1Yt3_MI1fJQtFbXArp_xzOveAZX4q-KoIacwP49NeoG2g0UcBI6tnKA_z4vBLe7oTh4Wlqi7ScyFFefg-1NZ3BP9Ab_Jo2Ho7UooegeBm9AiRSSskBZzdMHRu/s400/gmf3_picnik.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511442506195707586" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This place is full of old tractors and fire trucks that the kids can climb on and play in.. they were in heaven!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm0v6MF-U6BlPDXoiMRdBCF8PiLfBTk5m7kZBh_YK_cE2m96SWy3PLfapx1oLIe2K1x7COepQJyK0Vum26r_igsbthpcgh47iJ3zPWbypxxPxiTmDItOxf_3ZO1YV0eI-r1Z6D0-Yv6rMb/s1600/gmf2.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 315px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm0v6MF-U6BlPDXoiMRdBCF8PiLfBTk5m7kZBh_YK_cE2m96SWy3PLfapx1oLIe2K1x7COepQJyK0Vum26r_igsbthpcgh47iJ3zPWbypxxPxiTmDItOxf_3ZO1YV0eI-r1Z6D0-Yv6rMb/s400/gmf2.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511442488940571682" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2JfLCTJNeP7JLaUsxnqZPFKN9Ubg7ywz_6FYryj0Sf7TbAW7kBluoTgGs2qeKUp0U21tUWBPu3G33YiyedSjy6SZg29i9qIlPvTrUMxmDJlg1LbnPpzwn2tcTDBXTmaA89BuI_otRVdyQ/s1600/gmf1.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2JfLCTJNeP7JLaUsxnqZPFKN9Ubg7ywz_6FYryj0Sf7TbAW7kBluoTgGs2qeKUp0U21tUWBPu3G33YiyedSjy6SZg29i9qIlPvTrUMxmDJlg1LbnPpzwn2tcTDBXTmaA89BuI_otRVdyQ/s400/gmf1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511442488164714754" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />And, then, there was the duck pen. I really should have known it was all going too smoothly. They actually encourage you to try to catch the ducks and pet them (poor things), and Lily was happy to participate. My friend A had Ben (aka "the easy kid"), and I was trying to keep track of Lily and Cameron, but it was in an enclosed pen so I let Lily run free of me.. big mistake. The video below is not that exciting, other than I actually caught a flash of what ended up being a major wipeout, without realizing it. I was focusing on Cameron at the time and I heard another guy go "Ohhh!" (As in, "oh! that's gotta suck!") When I heard it I just knew it had to be in reference to one of my kids.. Lily had slipped and fallen in the "wet" area of the pen.. it was mostly dry in there but she managed to find the slippery spot. When she stood up, she looked like she tried to steal second base; her legs and butt were just covered in... what I am going to say was mud. But it wasn't.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Off to the restrooms, where I proceeded to give her a lower-body bath in the ladies room sink while my poor friend was trying to entertain the boys outside. It was a good chance to get them all to use the potty, (which they did, quite successfully), but we ended up missing the hayride portion of our tour which made me a little sad. Not that I like hay, or riding in the backs of trucks, but I know the kids would have loved that. Ah well, next time. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Here's a video, you can see Lily running around... about 3 seconds from the end, you see her head kind of disappear behind the lady we were talking to- that was the duck mud wipeout.<br /><object width="500" height="405"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ihPfMjVuo64?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0&border=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ihPfMjVuo64?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="405"></embed></object><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I had been promising the kids ice cream for days- they are obsessed with it. It's all been a little bit of a blur. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I know there was some lizard catching going on the other night, which creeps me out, but really shouldn't because I used to do my fair share as a child. I came home from work and daddy was in the backyard, catching lizards and giving them to the kids to hold. The kids were actually somewhat gentle, and I am happy to say that no lizards were injured in the process. I did have to tell Lily that the lizard needed to go find his mommy and take a bath in order to get her to let him go. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Did you know if you stroke their bellies, they get paralyzed? It's true, I saw it on Letterman's stupid pet tricks.. Anyway, here's Cameron testing the theory:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1ByG1Q3Rwtj2HDhWN4gRXB6wNMt68Sf7Jg2yrR2_g9Fy9RpzWq8gub5c2GxwCNF2n1LC0DxCCMb8j9z2CwYtwCD_C4j6794RfHZSgr5qf5d4TkKyPXAt7UpbIg0MQoz1MxPGWrSXOJn5A/s1600/lizard.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1ByG1Q3Rwtj2HDhWN4gRXB6wNMt68Sf7Jg2yrR2_g9Fy9RpzWq8gub5c2GxwCNF2n1LC0DxCCMb8j9z2CwYtwCD_C4j6794RfHZSgr5qf5d4TkKyPXAt7UpbIg0MQoz1MxPGWrSXOJn5A/s400/lizard.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510287425800756274" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We also did some swimming the other day.. the kids just love the water. We opened the door to the pool deck, and Lily and Cameron walked right up to the edge of the pool, where Lily decided to give Cameron a nice firm shove right into the pool. Luckily, he had his swimmies on and I snatched him right out, but seriously... I don't know what I am going to do with her.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjJ2Bv-93GfXNxzc92dZLB783eqH2Xb-99xSJbe60MOVuQ26XSbW1YX_fMod-fPtAY4MhFfxTygGhBiUZTXWnLha_GLcN5fyLfcmE3aaN1NLPtISUepoNFnZQx55qEg-N8QN2oEqF8ASub/s400/lilypool.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">And luckily, he's forgiving. We did have a little episode where Cameron wanted to jump into the pool, and dove headfirst, directly into my head, in the deep end. I seriously thought I was going to have a giant black eye because his forehead hit me right on my browbone. I saw stars, said a bad word, teared up, the whole nine. But just a little red mark on both of us, and he was back swimming again 60 seconds later. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeeCjlCUK6l2oLewBqUcbgAA72RpQGNaBGmn_tbc9PA6S6LIAP7ebin2n3ALSo6do-tx-RJW9NyrBnVZ8OvWB9yV19oo1Xdd34vyi3SEDxWfzkznCuCDONrT7hu2wiQfFhLCrRjhiVhv1C/s1600/lilcampool.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; I have some really awesome prizes lined up! I have been running, just taking it easy and doing 2-3 miles right now. I am in pretty rough shape but, already I am off to a better start than I was last year. I just have to get the fundraising underway, and I'll feel better about things.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">On the potty-training front, it's going well.. hardly any accidents, and even Lily is now doing #1 AND #2 on the potty. The trick is, being near a potty when she says she has to go, because she can't seem to hold it long. But at least she is recognizing "the feeling" now. It is nice to be using diapers only for nap and bedtime now, but I look forward to not needing any diapers at all anymore! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I have to say, I am glad I waited as long as I did, and I think it would have been fine even if I waited longer. I can't imagine having done this 6 months ago, or more. It's a time consuming process, and even though they don't have accidents, the reason for that is because the kids spend half their waking hours on the potty. Anytime one sees another getting ready to go, they want to go too. Benjamin could sit on the potty for an hour, easy. Just talking, and singing, and reading books.. anything to earn that treat. And going out in public... that's a whole new ballgame now. I really don't have the luxury of taking them anywhere by myself because I couldn't take them all to the bathroom myself (and keep them from touching everything). I figure we have a few more months until they really get it down, and don't need to be reminded constantly to go potty, and we can stop making such a huge deal about every little tinkle. I am proud of their progress.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">On a side note, I am pretty sure that I have an effective (although not so humane) tactic that the government might be interested in for getting prisoners to talk. Just lock them in a small room at about 5 pm with my kids and let the whining ensue. I'm serious. I am hoping this is just a phase, but they are so darn picky about every little thing.. the cups they drink out of, the color of the plate they eat off of, which pajamas I put on them, which shoes they wear... if it's not the one they want, the whining begins. Oh, the whining. I think I could lose my mind sometimes.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Other than that, all is well. Hope you have a terrific weekend:)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img border="0" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" width="125" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" height="125" /></a></div></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-73181511571279711682010-08-25T00:17:00.005-04:002010-08-25T00:54:14.514-04:00Blog For A Cure Blog Party<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge1jjbC702YQ7YJOVQ8tWSznQe7m_IrFgKGHrscWTpKkyLVY1S7K3Q_NwXmjU3F5KkTHgrtANXkmu2zWZGEMWlRgBtI8_ezzUlX1nSixo58at_ylkpZHt3pqoO_xgcqPVsAmWWmccrsiVb/s1600/Blog+for+a+cure+button.png"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge1jjbC702YQ7YJOVQ8tWSznQe7m_IrFgKGHrscWTpKkyLVY1S7K3Q_NwXmjU3F5KkTHgrtANXkmu2zWZGEMWlRgBtI8_ezzUlX1nSixo58at_ylkpZHt3pqoO_xgcqPVsAmWWmccrsiVb/s400/Blog+for+a+cure+button.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509197025115807682" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">How cool is this graphic that my friend Christi came up with for me? The Blog For A Cure blog party will be an opportunity for bloggers to make connections, gain new readers, win some really cool prizes, and support an amazing charity. An entry into each prize giveaway will be given to each donor that donated at least one dollar to my fundraiser, and comments on the giveaway post, and each additional dollar donated will earn another entry. Last year I raised about 1,000 dollars with this event, and this year, I want to top that!</div><div style="text-align: center;">Donations can be made via PayPal, or directly to my Fundraising page- (directly to the fundraising page is preferable, as it avoids PayPal fees). </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">**********************************</div><div style="text-align: center;">We have been playdatin' it up lately, which is nice. I managed to get this Saturday off so that I could go today and I hope to be able to attend as many trainings as possible. Even though I don't know anybody yet, it is still good to go and be a part of the group. I had to get up at 6 (s-i-x) this morning, and I was still a little late because my GPS is only slightly better at directions than I am, and the park was a good 45 minutes from my house. (Can I tell you how many times my GPS has gotten me lost? It's ridiculous.)</div><div style="text-align: center;">We ran for 30 minutes, stretched, and then most of the group went on to a shoe clinic at the local running store. I just got new running shoes, so I skipped that part and hit the road. As far as the workout.. yeah, I am not in good shape right now. Perhaps it is because I haven't really run since... well, let's not talk about that. It's ok though because there are people of all levels involved in TNT so I am not alone, and I have plenty of time to train. Last year I walked a good portion of the helf-marathon, so this year my goal is to run the entire thing. I don't care how fast or slow I go, as long as I keep running.</div><div style="text-align: center;">As far as fundraising, I am doing pretty well with procuring prizes for my Blog For A Cure fundraiser, which will be Sept 13th-17th. I have some really cool stuff to give away so farm and getting new prizes every day! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://pages.teamintraining.org/ncfl/wdw11/lanik58">Click here to see my fundraising page.</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We had our friends, C & J over yesterday for a playdate. They are six months older than our kids, and the sweetest little guys. It took a good hour before our kids actually played together, but once they did it was hysterical. Lily was chasing J around the house, giggling the whole time, and Ben was hanging on to the back of the tricycle, dragging himself along the ground as C pedaled. It was quite humorous.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB0LJEko_r0Wv0LPiGJO_cqxMlUEZdYAPk7Pm2MpZOeFuHyxoPQB91qWoR8ZEVmd1MogVHnxa8iN1HGFDTBWLvIWmlaQJ0OnhBKANNk7ZXW2QFR7dDwhtUDGs-iD1gHqA4KU8stS6z3vBK/s400/IMAG0153.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">On the potty-training front... eh, we're doing ok I guess. Lily still won't go #2 on the potty, but she is great with peeing. I am not sure if I should put her back in a diaper between 11-2, which is when she usually has an accident, or just keep letting her have accidents until she learns to go on the potty. I try to sit her on the potty as much as possible during that time, but she doesn't like to sit for long. </div><div style="text-align: center;">The boys are still doing pretty well, except Cameron had a couple accidents yesterday during the playdate. I think he and I were both preoccupied and not as diligent about making sure that he got to the potty every30-40 minutes, and he just isn't that good at holding it yet. Overall, it's ok. I am looking into selling our cloth diaper stash right now. BumGenius 3.0, is anybody's interested.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here's a good aspect of potty training... they spend so much time in the bathroom, I figured I would get something out of it. Ben thought scrubbing the toilet was<i> great fun. </i>Actually, he did that all on his own, I swear.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe3oCAPcxvQ7kPxNbbWpKI8e3fBbbm2mAGRiqML7DCj-DsSM3NQhuDRmAHlzvez3sE4OAKrkfxjfXpI5ItJ2RMd-a69SmZ-M0UcpZiJpuF69iIXjQwM59Y17BL4HYxFC8Os09DX3UuQYZW/s400/IMAG0152.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">OK, it's kind of not funny how behind my blog has gotten. Dora the Explorer! The hotel has a "character breakfast" which features Dora, and a few other Nick Jr. characters. Originally the plan was to have all of us go (Todd, me, Ploy, Lily, Ben and Cameron) so that we'd have one adult per child, and then we'd go swimming in the super-amazing waterpark-like swimming pool at the hotel, but Todd ended up taking a work trip to the Camry factory in Lexington so it ended up being just Ploy and I. And let's just say, the kids were not on their best behavior! I am convinced that they know when they have the adults outnumbered and turn up the naughtiness a few notches just to see us sweat. They didn't want to sit in their seats, didn't want to walk holding our hands, and were profusely pissed off because we weren't actually going swimming. We tried to take them to a playground after eating but it was within view of the pool, where they couldn't go, so there was no consoling them. Alas, I did get a couple cute pictures. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Blurry, but cute.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpzF-bCGQSx8OmTnwEqWSZhljStLxBzwBNYAcO9U53vYTHDxJL5dpG741YHcUP7kkc2kj37usOPTxMOei61MhBvRNO7IJyv9VvKG4ETOYtxSPkbbIp_LnAOTZ7fBrFrgQFpIKtfr5pNn3H/s1600/dora1.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpzF-bCGQSx8OmTnwEqWSZhljStLxBzwBNYAcO9U53vYTHDxJL5dpG741YHcUP7kkc2kj37usOPTxMOei61MhBvRNO7IJyv9VvKG4ETOYtxSPkbbIp_LnAOTZ7fBrFrgQFpIKtfr5pNn3H/s400/dora1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506848145351937730" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">Ironically, Lily is the biggest fan of Dora but she froze up when Dora came to the table to say hi, and refused to take a picture with her.</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx4L2MY141o8eRVzT9ZqrAM1dE45JuQVUjp-9t9m8ERpo1FISbCBazKyY9cUomITYHDiWzoZ5go4c80iTuTbnfAeKKWaaJPqbIep2WJzJicVxWHkh0t8_o3WO8-G2TDISFFy2SK3FSUvKV/s1600/fiesta-trio.gif"></a><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQSN3mQQcc3cnT_CAY3CajmkNCUTskpdfMHA1TXLTb7Y8TdcT9u-rxFYmjwFjl86mPR5tVKUt9shXdHC6pyHmzXQwexlZATmKcjhe0PpVtzSbmoVr994hOgyZh7G4QmLl8dbRkhpVfTqQV/s1600/dora5.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQSN3mQQcc3cnT_CAY3CajmkNCUTskpdfMHA1TXLTb7Y8TdcT9u-rxFYmjwFjl86mPR5tVKUt9shXdHC6pyHmzXQwexlZATmKcjhe0PpVtzSbmoVr994hOgyZh7G4QmLl8dbRkhpVfTqQV/s400/dora5.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506846985398952738" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Cameron was the friendliest, from the start.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8bcU7ux32AvN_Vmmi7qJdWUzUQzA1aVwnbURZx5McGK5NNwwaTPKBfKtiIJEGUzhKzd3YhzfUn0D9vfTctAGd4WYfKQf6kc_hcs0Sm2i9Cwer9o_nAvncNc-ZhLjnkKjP4TVHO0BzFAWH/s1600/dora7.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8bcU7ux32AvN_Vmmi7qJdWUzUQzA1aVwnbURZx5McGK5NNwwaTPKBfKtiIJEGUzhKzd3YhzfUn0D9vfTctAGd4WYfKQf6kc_hcs0Sm2i9Cwer9o_nAvncNc-ZhLjnkKjP4TVHO0BzFAWH/s400/dora7.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506846982294474466" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">But Benny got pretty friendly with her too... although I did have to remind him that we don't poke our friends in the eyeballs.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib0g1MyaU71POOui77cH7QSq-Nu5lwwHPsgojf3agENIr37rc_DvvzGeAwG7d7NEzTMkwTJkQ7sTaJAM_uiMd3QYO8G11X5cleHmki5tMq6w9URJR15j32zl83ZwgVwk18EthmHaWE7xjZ/s1600/dora3.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib0g1MyaU71POOui77cH7QSq-Nu5lwwHPsgojf3agENIr37rc_DvvzGeAwG7d7NEzTMkwTJkQ7sTaJAM_uiMd3QYO8G11X5cleHmki5tMq6w9URJR15j32zl83ZwgVwk18EthmHaWE7xjZ/s400/dora3.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506846977731242034" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Any idea why Dora is baring her midriff here? Fantastic!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">On the fundraising front, things are going well so far. I wanted to (not do any of that stuff) and share a couple fun announcements.</div><div><br /></div><div>First of all, did anyone else notice that the tagline on my blog clearly says "training for a marathon and raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society", yet I haven't done any of that in oh, 7 months? I kind of feel like a fraud. When I completed the fundraising and the Disney half marathon last year, I was pretty skeptical about doing it again. It was a lot of pressure, trying to raise all that money, and I didn't really train properly, so even though it felt great to have it under my belt, I was pretty glad it was over.</div><div><br /></div><div>Well, some time has passed, and I have gone back to work. Life is even more complicated now, and the kids and work keep me busy but I haven't forgotten that there are still millions of people suffering with blood cancers. People I know and care about are still fighting their battles. With the support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, blood cancer survival rates have increased drastically, but until they are 100%, they still need our help.</div><div><br /></div><div>I signed up this week to do it again- I will be raising a minimum of $1,750.00 for to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while training for a half marathon. When I began the program last year, I still didn't have any babysitters to watch the kids so I couldn't go to the meetings or training sessions, or group fundraisers. I did the entire season on my own, never even having met the members of my local team. I didn't realize what a loss it was until I actually got to the race, and saw the 1,000s of Team In Training participants running together and being supported by spectators, wearing their purple shirts with the names of the people they are running for. I didn't even wear a purple shirt because I never got a chance to pick it up. This year, I am vowing to do things differently and really get more out of the program. I still won't be able to get to all the trainings, but I will get as many as I can and do the rest of the training on my own.</div><div><br /></div><div>This past Saturday was the season Kick-off party for all the participants of the fall/winter Team In Training program. I actually got to go, and although I didn't know anybody, I was really glad I went. I did get introduced to the team coaches, and got to hear some really inspiring stories. They passed out a lot of information on fundraising, training, and also a handbook with the stories of the local honored heroes which are the people that are currently suffering with blood cancer, or in recovery from it right now. The stories of these people made me cry. One of the honored heroes is a little boy, four years old. He spent an entire year of his life receiving treatments, hooked up to tubes, unable to do all the things that normal toddlers do. He is currently in remission, but without the support of organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, he might not be. That's what makes this a worthwhile cause.</div><div><br /></div><div>So, that is the deal. I'm in full blown fundraising mode again, and this year I have a few different ideas. I will be doing the Blog For A Cure Fundraiser, like I did last year, which was very successful. I'll be giving away lots of fun stuff- and I need sponsors, so if you have an Etsy shop, any online business, a blog you would like to promote, please think about donating a prize. It's a great way to get some exposure, and support a wonderful charity. If you just want to help me get a jumpstart on my fundraising, here's the link to my page:<a href="http://pages.teamintraining.org/ncfl/wdw11/lanik58"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"> http://pages.teamintraining.org/ncfl/wdw11/lanik58</span></b></a><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">.</span></b></div><div><br /></div><div>I'm also going to have a Pampered Chef Party, where a portion of the proceeds will go directly to my fundraiser, and people will be able to purchase things online that will go towards the fundraiser as well.</div><div><br /></div><div>Last but not least, I'm going to throw party- a Beer Pong Tournament actually, where the entry fee will go towards the fundraiser as well. Creative, right? Anything for a good cause:)</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>After crossing the finish line last year..</i></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUtnIE4p7BI-ECjG8OmtA4gl_IEUQ8pPavI963BbCFr2ENbrNvhg5g7VXBHbQhC5mGukaCpmAsGG2yIku0J8D9cvsbRijMDqQtkuqUmCjcO-vGRXrEw3T10tGHXpeLHkBgRGn_yBvWKUl6/s400/blogfinishpic15.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">And, here's another piece of really good news: Todd has gotten a promotion at work! It was really long overdue, and I am so proud of him for earning it. It also comes at a great time because with my clubhouse shut down for renovations, I am not working much for the next few weeks!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">So there it is, the big news. What do you think?</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Please help me get back into the Top 25!!</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img border="0" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" width="125" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" height="125" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-50975080373469700072010-08-14T02:34:00.004-04:002010-08-14T02:58:39.987-04:00Do you need an M&M, or a Lollipop?<div style="text-align: center;">OK, first things first. You see that little brown button on the bottom of this blog post? The one that says "Click Here to Vote for Us"? Could you please do that? My blog is now #27- that is totally unacceptable! I must stay in the top 25!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The potty training is going well.. just one accident today, from Miss Princess. Little by little, they are waking up dry from naps, and Lily usually wakes up dry in the morning too. She just doesn't quite get to that potty fast enough when it's time to go #2. Poor thing, here I am discussing her bowel movements on the internet. I hope she isn't too scarred. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I began potty training day one by giving them only praise when they used the potty, but quickly discovered that treats are a much better motivation for my kids. Day two brought about the treat system, and a LOT less accidents; two M&Ms for #1, and a Dum-Dum lollipop for a #2. (I had some friends over the other day, and when one of them asked if they could have some M&M's I told her she had to use the potty first, hehe). Benjamin will now go #2 (a tiny bit) each time he sits on the potty, just to earn a lollipop. Luckily I can usually distract him into forgetting about it most of the time. (Kind of unfair, but I don't really want his teeth to rot out before he turns three. Although, those <i>are</i> baby teeth...) I even took Ben to the grocery store today, by himself. I got really brave and didn't even bring an extra pair of underwear. What can I say, I like to live on the edge. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">In other news, poor Cameron is getting some serious molars. I am hoping that is the reason he is so crabby these days. He has his happy moments, but he's also extremely touchy. As always, he's happiest when snuggled in my lap, watching the Backyardigans.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I treated the kids to new pajamas today. Their cuteness is not adequately captured in this sad collage of cellphone photos, though. Lily, being fully immersed in her "princess phase" got a set with, you guessed it, princesses all over it. She wasn't really impressed, as she in very partial to nightgowns now. Sigh.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3qtvOeXVJfjVT54kbCaNFYnnBSx8_quDDONhi-CepDu0UvIFXpkTZZH5ZnEdWSAOApID9uUH_VYlvtDAKTvq-3a2DgwEAYnXhyphenhyphenZXM2fOnlx-MkK1rTrQkY9HUfiVggYK9wjK5gKEMM8ev/s1600/jammies.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 136px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3qtvOeXVJfjVT54kbCaNFYnnBSx8_quDDONhi-CepDu0UvIFXpkTZZH5ZnEdWSAOApID9uUH_VYlvtDAKTvq-3a2DgwEAYnXhyphenhyphenZXM2fOnlx-MkK1rTrQkY9HUfiVggYK9wjK5gKEMM8ev/s400/jammies.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5505150632900985698" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The kids like to look out the window and try to see the moon at night. When they see it, they break out into the song "Moon, moon, moon!" by the Laurie Berkner Band. Cuteness.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">That's it for now.. I have some major bigtime news that I am not quite ready to announce yet. You'll have to check back:)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/siggy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s585.photobucket.com/albums/ss293/lanik58/blog/?action=view&current=siggy.jpg" target="_blank"></a><a href="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=Lanik58"><img border="0" alt="Vote For Us @ PoshLittle.Com!" width="125" src="http://www.topbabyblogs.com/topblogs/images/poshlittleblogs_125x125.jpg" height="125" /></a></div>Lanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02935599280350809645noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-561905910759648566.post-75591452195600165662010-08-12T22:39:00.009-04:002010-08-12T23:28:17.394-04:00Holy Cow, I think they are semi-potty trained...<div style="text-align: center;">Yesterday was an amazing day.. I took the kids to the Orlando Science Center, (somewhere we had never been before), and it was really a lot of fun for them. There was so much to look at, touch, play with... it was almost overload, and we didn't even get to do half the things that were there. But that is not even the amazing part- the amazing part is that they went out wearing UNDERWEAR. Not diapers. It was our first outing since starting to potty train, and I wasn't sure I wanted to risk it. All three have been going #1 on the potty very well for the last week, but that was at home, without pants on:) My strategy was to skip the pullups (even though we tried them, they just didn't work very well), and just go straight to the underwear. I got them adorable Dora and Diego, Lightning McQueen, Tinkerbell, and Minnie Mouse underpants, and they sure do get a kick out of wearing it. Ben and Cameron both favor Lightning McQueen the most, and Lily (of course), loves her princess underpants.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I brought a potty with us in the car, and had them sit on it before going in. We played for a little bit, then I took them into the bathroom one by one. I am not really sure that this process is any easier than changing diapers, but at least it will be cheaper, right? Instead of carrying exyra diapers in my purse, now I carry extra underwear and shorts. It's ok, we are making progress, so I am happy! They still wear diapers for naps and bedtime right now...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Now, I just realized something that troubles me. As you all know, I planned on keeping the kids in their cribs as long as they were sleeping well and fit comfortably in them. I am not sure I can do this, if we are potty training. I am thinking they are going to need to be able to get up at night if they have to go. Thus, the switch to toddler beds may also be imminent. I am SO not looking forward to that!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Anyway, on to the <a href="http://www.osc.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=11&Itemid=143">Orlando Science Center</a>.. this place was fabulous. Lots of interactive displays for the kids to play with:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFrvjzJ077ibk6YS34AvooAD_xylMUXntRsjuKbBZLF-SCdX1KSjCvZzdUy2isjpjBWpFXJEJmX0qQ0ELzbdmSMJMvuHidZLMdHzv3YDxs0umGHZJzzjCdqAZPmFFGjjSaNAvuRMQqYu1m/s400/sciencecenter1.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>...including a little orange grove where they could pick the oranges, then shoot them up a conveyor belt, and collect them in baskets. </i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi92Ws12v52rfmFRVyOWHihMUnYtpDsOrKFQTN4afCS3O2pophCKUAgV5jT341_FalfGeGMJit5tHjWWwyKy5GR2duhLPZ_FUWnNrCWyZROjEGY3WzKIPTfB0RFNzs84yDz1PlPyJf3FFEi/s1600/sciencecenter7.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; I will say that there is a whole new facet of motherhood that I'm discovering, that I don't really like; dealing with other people's (bratty) kids in public. You know, the ones that shove the littler ones out of the way and don't let them play with the toys that are there for everyone? Yeah, I dealt with a lot of that yesterday. It was something I just don't come across very often and I wasn't sure how to react. I definitely don't think it's my place to teach someone else's kid to play nicely, but I also don't want my kids to run away when someone is being a bully. In general, I would just steer us into another area, but I am not sure that's exactly the best way to handle it. Definitely something to think about for me.
